JONELLE SAYS: GETTING AN AFTER-SCHOOL JOB

I did it!  I got a job.  At the movie theater.  Selling tickets.  No, it’s not a career move.  But it feels good to have my own money, and to have an excuse to get out of the house.

I just started a week ago.  But I’m a little nervous.  Already, my dad has called me at work a few times, high as a kite, asking stupid questions like “where is the peanut butter?”  It’s fine as long as I’m the one answering the phone and I’m alone in the booth.  But I’m scared that he’ll call one time when the manager is there, or someone else will answer.  Then everyone will know.  I don’t want to have to explain anything to them.  It’s none of their business, and I don’t want to get dad into trouble.  But what can I do?
