LIONEL SAYS: STAYING ON TOP OF SCHOOLWORK
I know that I should be working on my homework, but Mom and Dad are fighting again, and I can’t concentrate. The problem is that besides today’s homework assignments, I have a whole bunch of work from the last few weeks that still needs to be done. Mr. Merkle said he’d give me an extra week to hand in the geometry ones, and Ms. Cristopolous gave me two weeks for Spanish, but I don’t know how I’m going to catch up with everything. I’ll probably just have to take big fat zeros for them all.
It’s too loud at home to study. My stupid brothers spend all their time fighting over which shows to watch and Mom and Dad argue about everything. What I really want to do is go to sleep so I don’t have to hear it all. And I can’t focus in class because I’m always so tired from being up late the night before.
I get so sick and tired of everyone asking so many questions. "Mr. Wright, where is your homework?" "Mr. Wright, are you listening?" "Mr. Wright, do you want to share your thoughts with the rest of us?" "Mr. Wright, is it really that painful to think about chemistry during chemistry class?" It’s so irritating, and insensitive. They have no idea about anything.
