WHAT IS RELAPSE

A relapse is when someone who is getting treatment for or used to have a drug or alcohol problem slips back or starts using or drinking again.  A relapse can be a scary thing, but is perfectly normal for someone trying to get better from addiction.  Relapse does not mean your parent won’t ever get well – it’s part of the getting well process.
