ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR

YOUR ROLE

If you are an active, energetic, creative professional, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, then the role of the  English Language Instructor in Armavir and Aragatsotn regions (Shenik, Arteni) at COAF (Children of Armenia Fund) is a perfect fit for you. You will facilitate the intellectual and social development of children in rural areas of Armenia.

Your duties will include:

Content Creation (50%)

  • Follow a complete COAF English Program curriculum.
  • Organize learning materials and resources needed for an effective educational environment.
  • Select appropriate American English materials that meet the program objectives.
  • Develop a course syllabus that clearly outlines the topics of the classes and the expectations of the students.
  • Develop and implement quality lesson plans according to the Access Program objectives.
  • Use a variety of activities and instructional methods to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities.
  • Contribute to the development of the program’s e-learning component.
  • Design evaluation materials to properly assess students’ progress in accordance with the benchmarks established at the start of the program.

Instruction (50%)

  • Hold classes and conduct enhancement activities, intensive sessions in accordance with the schedule and curriculum approved by COAF.
  • Track children’s performance and attendance to ensure they are mastering the skills on a regular basis according to COAF English Program assessment plan.
  • Monitor children’s interactions and nurture cooperation and sharing.
  • Ensure student portfolios are filed, accessible, and frequently updated.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the students during planned classes and activities.
  • Submit progress reports according to the schedule established by COAF.
  • Seek to improve methodical and pedagogical skills through participation in seminars, lessons of visiting experienced colleagues, as well as self-education.

You will work by an employment contract with the immediate supervision of the ELT Manager to ensure effective instruction. COAF English Program revolves around six core content learning areas that constitute the hallmark of the Curricula.

PSYCHOLOGIST

YOUR ROLE 

If you are an active and creative professional who loves working with children aged 3 to 6 years old, then being COAF’s (Children of Armenia Charitable Fund) Psychologist of the Child and Family Center in Hatsik village of the Armavir region is a perfect role for you. Your duties will include:

Implementation of Child Group Development and Early Learning Programs (60%)

  • Conduct group development work with preschool children․
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of the children to identify development disorders and peculiarities.
  • Ensure a safe, creative, and imagination-boosting working and learning atmosphere.
  • Create individual development plans for each child and fill in the relevant documents by generating an electronic database.
  • Develop and implement various group development programs

Work with Parents (30%)

  • Prepare different materials for the development of parenting skills and conduct exercises, meeting-discussions on upbringing, child development, and overcoming problems with the parents.
  • Regularly inform parents about the work with children by making them direct participants in the activities.
  • Conduct personal meetings with parents in order to inform them about the success, and progress of the child and discuss joint work programs.

Individual Consultation (10%)

  • Conduct individual consultations with preschool children.
  • If necessary, provide parents with individual consultations about the difficulties of the child and ways to overcome them.

DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

YOUR ROLE

COAF is seeking a Development Associate based in the New York City area. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated and energized, ready to assist as well as lead projects in development, fundraising, and events.
If you are facilitative and focused,  ready to play an active role to ensure the organization stays ahead of the curve then being the Development Associate at COAF (Children of Armenia Charitable Fund)  is a perfect role for you.

More specifically.

  • Process donations and issue tax-acknowledgment letters on a weekly basis.
  • Organize and maintain donor information in Network for Good CRM.
  • Conduct research for prospective grants and institutional partnerships.
  • Lead silent auction for an annual holiday gala.
  • Handle gift entry and reconciliation for Summer Soiree and Gala – our two largest annual fundraisers.
  • Send out weekly new contacts emails to new COAF contacts.
  • Use Network For Good CRM to filter information, send out reports, analyze data, and put together mailing lists.

She/he will create engaging visual content for offline and online channels to help our community connect with our products, programs, culture, and work across various regions of Armenia.

Your duties will include:

Data Visualization (60%)

  • Convey key messages using data visualization and creative graphic design approaches, techniques, and methods.
  • Creating and editing visual content including maps, charts, graphs, and infographics.
  • Presenting complex information and/or data in ways that are universally understandable, appealing, and easy to interpret.
  • Transforming data sets, and quantitative and qualitative analyses into compelling stories.
  • Providing visual, technical, and editorial guidance.
  • Help promote COAF’s content through presentations, reports, briefs, and proposals.

Graphic Design (40%)

  • Completing various graphic design tasks to create marketing and communication materials (banners, posters, flyers, booklets, brochures, social media visuals, presentations)presenting COAF’s programs and activities in the best way.
  • Understanding the fundamental principles of graphic design and adhering to brand requirements, applying them consistently.
  • Crafting emotionally compelling and creative briefers and slide decks, pitching decks, and donor reports that reflect the deeply people-centred nature of COAF’s work.
  • Architecting multifaceted campaign concepts in partnership with the wider Communications Team to position COAF content to key stakeholders.
  • Generating fresh concepts and keeping up to date with the industry developments.

ROBOTICS INSTRUCTOR

YOUR ROLE

If you are a highly energetic robotics specialist who has working experience with children and is a tech enthusiast, then being the Robotics Instructor in COAF’s Koti/Aygehovit SMART Rooms is a perfect role for you.

Your duties will include: 

Content creation and instruction (80%)

  • Develop the content of the Robotics program and constantly improve it according to the international standards and standards set by the organization.
  • Develop and implement student learning outcomes.
  • Lead Robotics classes with 2-3 groups of mid to high school students, introducing them to the field of designing, building and programming robots.
  • Create lesson plans, using and integrating the tools of Lego Education Platform into the curriculum.
  • Assist in the development of supplemental learning materials and activities to meet the varying academic needs of students.
  • Track students’ individual and team performance and give them regular feedback.
  • Develop the educational outcomes of the program and work towards the implementation of the program goals.
  • Plan and conduct community-based projects in the completion of each course.
  • Participate in short or long-term on-job training organized by COAF and/or partner organizations.

Administrative duties and communication (20%)

  • Individually inform students and/or parents of the course requirements, schedules and absences,  evaluation procedures.
  • Work efficiently in a team and build teams of idea generators, creators, developers, and implementers of the field.
  • Ensure a safe, creative and imagination boosting working and learning atmosphere.
  • Provide monthly reports and statistics to SMART Rooms’ Coordinator.

Research (40%)

  • Study the socio-economic situation of Debed village and its households.
  • Do home visits in the village and collect information about the socio-economic status of households and update data periodically.
  • Identify strengths, opportunities, problems, and resources of households of Debet village.
  • Create and develop data on the socio-economic status of households of Debet village.

Case management (30%)

  • Identify risky residents and families of Debet village prioritizing children and their families.
  • Create a development plan for each family in the village, follow up on the implementation process, and assure the quality of services.
  • Create and maintain a supportive network for the response of development plans․

Community development (30%)

  • To be included in the community development project in Debet village implemented by COAF.
  • Participate in the implementation of a community development plan created by the local government of Debet village.
  • To be included in the implementation of local social programs.
  • Develop and implement projects aimed at the development and prevention of social problems.
  • Organize and implement community meetings on common social problems.
  • Promote the formation of volunteering groups and mentoring them to implement social programs.

CHIEF OF STAFF

YOUR ROLE

The Chief of Staff (COS) role is to enable COAF’s strategy and operations for success in a complex national and international landscape. A member of the Top Management team, the COS closely monitors and facilitates the organization’s moving and interconnected parts, coaching, enabling, and supporting a dynamic group of colleagues. This COS is not an administrative role; it is a highly strategic and facilitative one that requires the COS to be a part analyst and decision framer, part counsellor and resource, and part project manager and change agent.

The COS is a dynamic, systems-level thinker who provides broad operations leadership to the COAF team across national and international offices and project sites. The position requires a combination of focus and agility, as well as a willingness to play an active role to ensure the organization stays ahead of the curve. Your duties will include:

Strategy Implementation (30%)

  • Serves as the operational lead for COAF’s leadership team, guiding the integration of planning, program design, and strategic partnerships.
  • Plays a lead role in translating the leadership team’s program vision into practical, actionable, tangible, milestone-bound plans during a time of anticipated scaling across national and international sites.
  • Manages, guides and coaches COAF’s growing team across various sites, optimizing the contribution of individuals to make a sustainable impact on the communities COAF serves.

Program Support (30%)

  • Partners extensively with COAF leadership on operational and strategic issues.
  • Provides support to functional teams, contributing to program design, goal-setting, identifying outcomes, and monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Leverages comprehensive understanding of programs to help staff fulfil various functions.

Human Resources & Team Development (30%)

  • Builds and develops relationships with team members to further their work, provide guidance and increase efficiency across the organization.

You will be joining the COAF Senior Management team under the direct supervision and leadership of COAF Top Management․

YOU KNOW (knowledge)

  • NGO setting as you have at least 10 years of work experience including applicable/transferable experience (i.e. private sector roles in business operations, strategy or consulting; similar experience in the public sector).
  • Financial analysis, have strong strategic and analytical skills and ability to process qualitative and quantitative data for decision making

YOU CAN (skills)

  •  Work hard and take direction and can creatively solve problems for which the answers aren’t always obvious.
  • Write and speak fluently in Armenian and English.

YOU ARE (attitude)

  • Results/action-orientated and have project management skills.
  • Mission-driven; passionate about COAF and related constituencies.
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator (written/verbal) and have strong facilitation skills.
  • Emotionally intelligent and have strong collaboration and teamwork skills.

WE ARE

Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that employs community-led approaches aimed at improving the quality of life in rural Armenia, with a particular focus on children and youth. COAF’s target development areas are education, health, social and economic development. COAF launched its programs in 2004, starting in one village and expanding to 64 villages in Armavir, Aragatsotn, Lori, Gegharkunik, Shirak, and Tavush regions.

Since 2015, COAF has developed and started implementing SMART Initiatives. COAF SMART is designed to advance a generation across the rural world through education that will benefit individuals, societies, and the environment. COAF SMART is an exemplary model of development and will be replicated in other regions and communities throughout Armenia. The first COAF SMART Center was inaugurated on May 27, 2018 near the village of Debet, Lori Region.
