COAF SMART Sound Design Instructor

YOUR ROLE

If you love working with children and have a fascinating experience in applying sound design software and programs into instruction, then the role of SMART Sound Design Instructor at COAF (Children of Armenia Fund) is a perfect fit for you. More specifically:

YOUR TEAM 

You will be joining the COAF SMART Programs team and will work under the leadership of COAF SMART programs manager. We’re expecting your best and require that:

YOU WILL PERFORM THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS

  • Know how to use and apply sound design software and programs into instruction (Garage Band, Logic Pro X, etc.).
  • Handle day-to-day needs, such as syllabi, lesson plans, hand-outs, e-learning content and presentations.
  • Knowledge of sound engineering and design practices worldwide and relevant applications.
  • Grade class assignments and examinations. Inform students about the course requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.
  • Develop and implement student learning outcomes.
  • Test and implement effective classroom management techniques.
  • Assist in the development of supplemental learning materials and activities.
  • Work efficiently in a multi-disciplinary team and build teams of idea generators, creators, developers, implementers around in their field.
  • Ensure a safe, creative, and imagination-boosting working and learning atmosphere.

YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Higher education or specialized training, plus work experience in Music.
  • Experience in education and the ability to work with children is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and public speaking ability.
  • Languages: Armenian (required), English (preferred).
  • High sense of responsibility and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and under pressure.
  • Good team player & tech-savvy.
  • Consider yourself a “lifelong learner”.

“Children of Armenia” Charitable Fund (COAF), a non-profit, non-governmental organization that employs community-led approaches aimed at improving the quality of life in rural Armenia, with a particular focus on children and youth. COAF’s target development areas are education, health, social and economic development. COAF launched its programs in 2004, starting in one village and expanding to 64 villages in Armavir, Aragatsotn, Lori, Gegharkunik, Shirak, and Tavush regions.

Since 2015, COAF has developed and started implementing a new vision SMART Initiatives. COAF SMART is designed to advance a generation across the rural world through education that will benefit individuals, societies, and the environment. COAF SMART is an exemplary model of development and will be replicated in other regions and communities throughout Armenia. The first COAF SMART Center was inaugurated on May 27, 2018, near the village of Debet, Lori Region.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER PSYCHOLOGIST

YOUR ROLE

The Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Child Development Center Psychologist to join our team and directly implement development programs with children and their parents. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the COAF Programs Team and implement the services in Hatsik’s Child Development Corner.

YOUR TEAM

You will be joining the COAF VILLAGE Programs team and will work under the leadership of the COAF Psychological Services Manager. We’re expecting your best and require that:

YOU WILL PERFORM THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS 

  • Implement child development activities in the child development corner in Hatsik.
  • Provide individual psychological services to the Corner’s beneficiary children.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of the children to identify development disorders and peculiarities.
  • Create individual development plans for each child and fill in the relevant documents by generating an electronic database.
  • Prepare different materials for the development of parenting skills and conduct exercises, meeting discussions on upbringing, child development, and overcoming problems with the parents.
  • Regularly inform parents/ legal representatives about the work with children by making them direct participants in the activities.
  • Collaborate closely with community preliminary schools, schools, and health facilities.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to ensure maximum results and a holistic approach.

YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Higher education in psychology.
  • 2+ years of experience as a psychologist.
  • Experience in the implementation of different psychological programs.
  • Experience in working with children.
  • Innovative, creative, and proactive.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Native Speaker in Armenian, good knowledge of English and Russian is a plus.
  • Work efficiently in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong IT Skills and team player.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • High sense of responsibility.

SPEECH THERAPIST

YOUR ROLE

If you like working with children, have experience in speech therapy, are motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, then being a COAF (Children of Armenia Fund) Speech therapist is a perfect role for you. More specifically:

YOUR TEAM 

You will be joining the COAF Village Programs team and will work under the leadership of the Speech therapy coordinator. We are expecting more and require that:

YOU WILL PERFORM THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate the work of speech therapists / special pedagogues in the target communities,
  • Plan and organize the introduction of speech therapy services in the beneficiary communities of the Armavir region (Getashen, Vanand, Shenik, Dalarik),
  • Organize work accountability,
  • Train local specialists by developing their professional theoretical-practical skills and knowledge,
  • Regularly visit beneficiary communities to provide on-site speech therapy services and methodological support and guidance, provide regular counseling,
  • Provide training and discussions on speech development topics for parents, teachers/educators / kindergarten staff and children,
  • Supervise and evaluate the process of diagnosis of beneficiary children carried out by local specialists, develop and carry out actions in accordance with the needs of the beneficiary children and interventions,
  • Ensure awareness of the speech therapist and special pedagogue’s functions in the community, work closely with the community’s preschool, school, and health care facilities,
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to ensure maximum results and a holistic approach.

YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Higher education of speech therapist / special pedagogue,
  • At least three years of professional experience,
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Report writing skills,
  • Computer literacy,
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written Armenian, knowledge of English is also desirable,
  • Ability to work independently under stressful conditions & deadlines,
  • Work experience in rural communities is desirable,
  • Experience in organizing training is encouraged,
  • Flexibility and willingness to make regular community visits (often overnight).
