Every child is provided with the resources to make the best start in life through positive early childhood interventions that develop their social, physical, emotional and intellectual abilities
Early childhood is critical for cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. During early years, a child’s brain is responsive to development & change. Unsafe environment, negative experiences and lack of care during these years can lead to lifelong consequences. UNICEF reports that over 200 million children under 5 fail to reach their full developmental potential as they do not have positive early childhood experiences. 70% of children in Armenia are not enrolled in pre-primary education. COAF targets a holistic development of a child by building a nourishing environment, activating strengths & developing weaknesses, incorporating multidisciplinary activities, such as art, music, drama, play & physical. Every child has their individual development plan that is realized through group and individual developmental sessions․ We also involve parents in the process through awareness raising, educational seminars and regular 1:1 meetings per need. COAF Child Development Corner is designed for 3 to 6 year-old children. Since 2013, more than 600 children have attended COAF Child Development Centers. They experienced positive early childhood experiences and developed a wide range of lifelong qualities & skills.
