The goal of the Program is to train participants at the elementary level of classical dance, to form an understanding of a specific dance style by drawing parallels between ballet, jazz dance and martial arts.
Methodology: We use a technique developed by Martha Graham called contraction release, in which it is essential that all movements are directed towards the center, the body is bent to the center. Participants work individually and in a group, during the first part of the program a number of video watching sessions, discussions and reproductions are planned. Individual work is done with each participant.
Topics: Participants are proficient in demonstrating and mapping, reproducing, and integrating exercises.
Program Outcome: At the end of the program, participants will develop improvisation, movement techniques and creative skills.
