The goal of the Program is to introduce fundamental parts of physics to students applying theories into practice at each given step and showing uses of physics in real life by means through robotics in particular.
Methodology: All classes are designed according to the principle of ‘learning by doing’ and thus contain mainly hands on activities. Each group identifies a community issue and tackles it creating a designated project and providing solutions for it.
Topics of the course include: Students get to learn about the 5 fundamental directions of engineering. In the first level students get acquainted with different tools of mechanical engineering, their evolution and use. Then they also learn to use Lego Education tools: the latter help create mechanisms and mini models for finding solutions to real life issues.
Program Outcome: By the end of the program students will be able to identify and interpret mechanical engineering phenomena in real-life and respond to provide solutions to real-life issues in that field. Students will also be able to freely use Lego Education tools (WeDo for 6-11 year-olds and EV3 for 12-18 year-olds).
