Narek’s older brother may have joined SMART first, but it didn’t take long for the roles to reverse. Soon, everyone was calling his older brother “Narek’s brother, Manvel.” Eleven-year-old Narek Aghekyan from Odzun has completed six programs over the past four years at the SMART Center, and without missing a beat, he names his top three favorites: Finance, Musical Instruments, and VR Fitness.
“I love sports, and VR Fitness was just right for me. Even now, during breaks, I run to the gym to see instructor Misak and meet the new groups. At the end, he always checks how many push-ups I can do,” Narek says with a grin.
He’s now eagerly waiting for his turn in Digital Drawing as well as for the launch of the SMART Center Summer Program.
“I really want to join the Musical Instruments group over the summer—so I can refresh what I’ve forgotten and pick up some new skills,” he adds.
Outside of SMART, Narek’s two biggest passions are soccer and chess. He imagines himself one day becoming a ‘soccer superfan and professional chess player.’
VR Fitness isn’t exactly soccer, but it helps you stay in shape for any sport.
At SMART, kids explore their fundamental human rights in the most engaging way—through play.
The ‘Twist’ game turned children’s rights into an energizing and interactive experience for everyone.
When it comes to chess, Narek’s greatest teacher—and toughest opponent—is his grandfather. So far, he’s only managed to beat him seven times.
Narek is a huge soccer fan and dreams of traveling to England one day to watch his favorite team, Arsenal, play live at the Emirates Stadium—ideally against Chelsea. (Soccer fans will understand why!)
In Narek’s village, biking is a beloved sport that needs no coach—most kids, like Narek, learn to ride on their own.
